Predecessor will serve in newly created role
World Insurance Associates has announced the appointment of John Peterson as its new chief growth officer.
Concurrently, Frank Costa, previously serving as World’s chief growth officer, transitions to the role of national growth leader. This new position focuses on supporting World’s advisors in achieving revenue targets across various business areas.
Peterson brings over three decades of leadership experience from Aon Risk Services, where he held several key positions, including co-leading US retail sales and leading a team responsible for generating substantial new business annually. His tenure at Aon also included leading the Aon Financial Services Group and Aon Risk Solutions of Illinois, as well as contributing to Aon’s cyber risk management and insurance solutions strategy.
With an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, along with a BS in Journalism and a BS in Economics from Northwestern University, Peterson’s educational background complements his professional expertise. He began his role at World on January 10, 2024, and will be based in Chicago.
In his new position, he will be spearheading new business development, client cross-sell initiatives, and overseeing the retail sales infrastructure. His primary responsibility will be to drive revenue growth by ensuring comprehensive client access to World’s extensive resources.
“We are delighted to have John join World and oversee our organic growth initiatives and to have Frank support John and the broader sales team as our new national growth leader role. Having this level of expertise in both roles will lead to an improved experience for our clients and partners, which of course is our main goal,” World CEO Rich Eknoian said.
“John brings a tremendous amount of experience to World, and I am thrilled to have him on the team. John and Frank collaborating across our ever-expanding retail business ensures our advisors will be well positioned to deliver the best possible experience and solutions to our clients,” World Retail president Tom Fitzgerald said.
