Rokstone, the international re/insurance MGA of the Aventum Group, has announced the appointment of Paul Amrose as the new head of its Connecticut-based North American excess facultative property team.

“We’re delighted to hire another industry legend,” said James Potter, CEO of Rokstone.

Who is Paul Amrose?

Amrose recently held the roles of chief underwriting officer for Accredited USA and Ascot USA. He was also the co-founder of Direct Fac.

In his new position in the unit backed by Lloyd’s and led by Hiscox 33, he will oversee its moves towards becoming a market leading proposition with an initial $5 million line.

Amrose’s appointment is one of numerous announcements by the firm in recent months, including the arrivals of Mike Nukk, Jordan Lanford, and Darren Delande.

“We’ve seen a steady stream of talent crossing the threshold at Rokstone and there’s no sign of that changing. We already have a number of other new launches planned early in 2024 as we continue to grow a diverse portfolio of non-correlating business,” said Potter.

“Looking forward we have serious ambitions to more than double our GWP in the near term and expand into new lines and target territories. We continue to explore strategic opportunities with our close carrier partners and continue to attract market leading entrepreneurial talent,” added Potter.

“We like working with Rokstone, they continue to attract top talent, have an excellent platform, and most importantly they deliver,” said Paul Lawrence, chief underwriting officer, Hiscox London Markets.

Amrose will join Rokstone on Jan 2 after serving his notice with Accredited.
